Overview
Sore throat is an uneasy feeling in throat. It is recognised by throat discomfort, itching, or irritation that is typically brought on by a virus but may also be brought on by bacteria. Moreover, sore throats might be caused by environmental factors such as pollution, smoking, seasonal allergies, or food allergies. A sore throat may just accompany a cold or runny nose, but it may also be an indication of underlying conditions such respiratory tract infections. Sore throat is rather seen as a symptom of respiratory tract disease more than an actual disease. Usually, a sore throat heals on its own. Yet, one might use over-the-counter medications or throat lozenges to treat a sore throat. Try a cough syrup based on the type of cough. Antibiotics are not typically necessary to treat a sore throat.
